Gilder's cushion
It consists of a packed base of cotton and the skin of a very fine and smooth calfskin, degreased and tanned.
A scroll is fixed by a strip of leather and studded on the base. It borders two sides to protect the gold leaf of the slightest breath of air that could be moved or damaged. This cushion can cut gold leaf with a gilder's knife.
